Wrong Location, Bad Idea

How nations deal with their history is often manifested in the monuments it builds. Of course the people’s relationships to these monuments evolve over time, sometimes with disastrous results.

“The publisher behind a controversial fashion shoot at Berlin’s Holocaust memorial has apologized to anyone offended, but denies that it “trivializ[ed] the Memorial,” arguing that the shoot was intended to “raise awareness” and “encourage passengers to visit for themselves.”

Considering how many people, most likely dozens, were involved in the creation of this photo one would think that someone would have said “is this really a good idea?”
